Senior Engineer, Protection and Controls (Special Projects) Hybrid

Role and Scope of Position:
The Senior Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, providing engineering and technical services to support our organization. This role involves designing substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems, working with transformers, engineering protection and control circuits, and conducting acceptance testing and failure analysis.
Responsibilities include:
Designing protection and control systems in accordance with company standards.
Developing settings and logic for relays and protection devices.
Performing coordination studies using fault simulation software.
Analyzing system disturbances and supporting operations and maintenance teams.
Leading project teams and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Supporting storm and emergency restoration efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems.
Minimum 5 years of protection and controls experience.
Experience with ASPEN Oneliner or equivalent software.
Knowledge of transmission and distribution relaying principles.
PE license preferred.
Working Conditions:
Availability for emergency restoration and travel within MA/CT/NH.
Valid driver’s license required.
Compensation:
Salary ranges from $125,680 to $139,640, with potential incentives. Benefits are competitive and detailed on our careers site.
