As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities include:
Developing conceptual designs for power, heating, and cooling systems, including equipment selection and cost estimates.
Creating specifications for materials and equipment procurement.
Reviewing OEM equipment configurations to meet technical and energy cost requirements.
Providing technical input during RFPs and evaluating vendors.
Managing consultants and contractors as needed.
Assessing process performance of district heating and cooling systems.
Ensuring detailed design development by contractors.
Supporting permitting processes.
Reviewing and developing procedures and witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests.
Participating in HAZID/HAZOP and design reviews.
Responding to RFIs and collaborating with project management.
Releasing engineering documentation and managing field modifications.
Supporting utility outages and resolving construction and startup issues.
Ensuring system reliability and operational excellence.
Conducting technical reviews with stakeholders.
Optimizing system configurations to meet KPIs.
Developing thermal and hydraulic models for energy systems.
Analyzing loads and developing operational insights.
Performing root cause analyses for operational issues.
Collaborating with engineering teams.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
At least 5 years of experience in power plant and district energy system design/engineering.
PE license is a plus.
Experience with thermal engineering and energy systems.
Knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, and related equipment.
Familiarity with codes like ASME, NFPA, ASHRAE, ISO.
Proficiency in thermal modeling software such as GT Pro, Gate Cycle, or Termis.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and independently.
Experience with data historians like OSI PI and Web CTR.
Salary Range: $104k-$170k
Actual salary depends on location, qualifications, skills, education, and experience.
