We're looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Team Lead to take ownership of our platform group. This team is responsible for the core infrastructure and services that enable our engineering organization to operate efficiently and reliably. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be expected to establish direction and lead through doing while building toward a more strategic, mentorship-driven role as the team matures. Responsibilities Provide technical and people leadership for the Platform Engineering team Set direction and establish best practices across AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and internal tooling Own and evolve our infrastructure-as-code (IaC), telemetry platforms, and cloud cost strategy Lead operation excellence efforts, including on-call practices, incident response, and service reliability Help the team prioritize modernization work while maintaining platform stability Coach and mentor engineers, identify skill gaps, and help the team level up Partner closely with Engineering leadership to align platform strategy with product needs Manage technical vendors and contribute to our security and compliance posture (PCI, SOC2) Establish and refine DevOps best practices, tools, and frameworks to enhance developer experience, agility, and efficiency What We're Looking For Bachelor degree of Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience Strong experience as a platform or infrastructure engineer, ideally in a multi-tenant SaaS environment Hands-on AWS infrastructure expertise, along with AWS CDK, Terraform, or other IaC frameworks Deep understanding of developer experience, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps toolchains Proven experience with observability and telemetry stacks (e.g., DataDog, Grafana, Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry) Track record of leading engineering teams Experience managing or participating in on-call rotations Interest in staying up-to-date on AI tooling, integrations, and best practices Bonus: Familiarity with voice tooling, PCI/SOC2 compliance, or billing systems Bonus: Experience with one of the following: Typescript, Go, PHP, Python Bonus: Experience with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Why Join Sharpen?
