. Job Description Summary Transamerica is seeking a creative, recent FSA to join our Annuity team! This role will focus on modeling Variable Annuities and Registered Index Linked Annuities for valuation reporting, projections, and hedging. Responsibilities: Act as model owner for valuation and hedging models: test new product features, review assumptions, research issues, and develop requirements related to variable annuities and registered index linked annuities. Manage administrative tasks such as quarterly updates, EFI estimations, model issue research, testing, validation, and audit coordination. Coordinate quarterly updates with model owners and developers, ensuring change management and governance compliance. Define economic and policyholder behavior assumptions and modeling methods, collaborating with relevant teams. Find creative solutions to modeling challenges as part of cross-functional teams. Collaborate on projects to modernize and automate valuation processes. Monitor industry developments, legal and regulatory changes, and marketplace trends; recommend appropriate responses. Potentially supervise a team of employees. Qualifications: FSA or equivalent designation, Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in a listed discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience. Or, ASA or equivalent designation with 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong leadership, judgment, organization, and communication skills. Ability to convey complex mathematical concepts effectively. Works well under pressure, with excellent computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of actuarial modeling systems, Variable Annuity guarantees, and RILA. Understanding of VA/RILA statutory and IFRS17 guidelines. Working Conditions: Office or remote/hybrid in Baltimore, MD; Cedar Rapids, IA; or Philadelphia, PA. Compensation: The salary range is approximately $140,000 - $160,000 annually. Actual pay depends on qualifications, experience, location, and operational needs. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on performance.
