We’re working with a well-established industrial client seeking an experienced
Mechanical Engineer
to join their growing team. This position plays a key role in the design, execution, and optimization of capital projects within a heavy manufacturing environment. The company is deeply committed to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement — and they're looking for an engineer who shares that mindset. Key Responsibilities Include: Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, process, and project management teams on capital projects—from scope and estimation to conceptual design and execution. Serve as a technical subject matter expert in mechanical systems across various industrial operations. Oversee and review engineering deliverables from external consultants (drawings, specs, RFQs, vendor documents, etc.). Design mechanical systems and develop documentation such as specs, operating instructions, and bid packages. Troubleshoot equipment and systems, driving root cause analysis and long-term solutions. Ensure projects meet regulatory, safety, environmental, and reliability standards. Lead internal and external resources on projects of varying scale. Ideal Background & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field with relevant experience). 8+ years of hands-on project engineering experience in industrial environments such as mining, lime, cement, or heavy process industries. Familiarity with mechanical systems such as conveyors, crushers, kilns, fans, pumps, and dust collection equipment. Working knowledge of industry codes (e.g., NFPA, MSHA, OSHA, CEMA, AISC). Strong skills in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and MS Office tools; SAP experience is a plus. Ability to write scopes, perform bid evaluations, and manage contractors. Proven success managing multiple projects with attention to safety, budget, and deadlines. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments and with all levels of personnel. Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including international assignments during critical project phases. Seniority level
