Overview
We are seeking a full-time
Senior SystemsAdministrator
in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing
and administering endpoint technologies associated with managing, patching and securing Windows, Mac and Linux endpoints across the enterprise. Serves as escalation point for problems and issues which are not resolved by first tier support personnel. Shares knowledge and mentors other IT associates. Essential Functions Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s client computing systems Performs and evaluates costs analyses and vendor comparisons from small through large scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations Provides escalated, technical support to customers by investigating and resolving systems-related matters of significance; provides support remotely or in person as required Provides oversight and management of desktop management systems, including remote support capabilities, application packaging, package distribution, patch management, and other requirements as driven by business requirements and management direction Continuously develops technical subject matter expertise on established and emerging desktop, tablet, laptop, and client software and other device-based technologies Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changes Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements as dictated Ensures that all security requirements are met or exceeded Provides technical input to solution development plans and concept documents and foresees risks and communicates and mitigates those before problems arise Shares knowledge and actively mentors less experienced IT Administrators (Administrator 1 & 2) Performs and plans major version upgrades and tunes systems using experience and deep knowledge of area Designs and implements effective monitoring of enterprise systems Plans and manages technical projects involving other teams and communicates technology effectively to non-technical associates and management Recognizes and understands technology impacts within the business Contributes to technical research on new technologies, processes or procedures and documents technical designs and procedures for team library Provides
reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques including performing root cause analysis and identification of corrective action for given problems Uses tools and scripting to efficiently manage technology Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Businessor another relevant field
AND
a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
OR
equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Ability to author and implement advanced scripting and coding to automate technical needs Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies effectively and demonstratedquality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization Demonstrated
ability to solve complex technical problems independently Expertise in managing Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems Advanced knowledge of endpoint management tools (Microsoft Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, Jamf, NinjaOne) Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID Experience with Mobile Device Management (Android, iOS) Ability to package and deploy applications/patches to endpoint devices Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and quickly resolve endpoint issues Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting system logs to determine root cause Ability to document technical procedures and share knowledge with peers Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
