Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Controller
to join our finance leadership team. This high-impact role reports directly to the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
and will lead all aspects of
accounting operations , including
financial reporting ,
SEC compliance ,
SOX/internal controls , and
equity administration . This is a key leadership position with visibility across the organization. You will work cross-functionally with Legal, HR, R&D, and FP&A, and be instrumental in scaling our accounting infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Lead the company’s
full-cycle accounting operations , monthly/quarterly close processes, and financial statement preparation
Own
SEC reporting , including the preparation and filing of 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other required filings
Ensure compliance with
US GAAP ,
SOX , and other regulatory standards
Oversee
technical accounting research
and implementation of new accounting standards
Manage and administer
equity programs
and
stock-based compensation accounting
Partner cross-functionally with Legal, HR, R&D, and FP&A to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with strategic goals
Build, develop, and mentor a
high-performing accounting team , fostering a culture of growth, transparency, and collaboration
Drive process improvements and implement scalable accounting systems and workflows
Support audit and tax processes, acting as the primary contact for external auditors
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or MBA a plus)
CPA required
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in
public accounting
Deep understanding of
US GAAP ,
SEC regulations , and
SOX compliance
Experience working in a
public company
environment; life sciences or biotech industry background strongly preferred
Strong leadership style centered on
collaboration ,
coaching , and
team development
Proficiency with ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., NetSuite, Workiva, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex accounting topics for non-financial stakeholders
