Set the technical strategy for the team Lead complex technical initiatives within the team Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture. Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments. Build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writing Continuously optimize solutions to improve overall Platform performance, availability and fault tolerance Drive Operational excellence through metrics driven approach Understand customer pain points, build solutions to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by applications and teams Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity, deep technical understanding through collaboration, code reviews, and leading by example. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 7+ years of data engineering experience Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines Strong knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to apply SQL to a wide variety of business requirements Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS Experience mentoring team members on best practices Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc Strong knowledge in data warehousing concepts and data platforms and architecture PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR Experience operating large data warehouses Experience providing technical leadership on high-impact cross-functional technical projects Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
