Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Compliance team as a Project Environmental Scientist I, responsible for conducting and managing Environmental Air Compliance projects. The successful candidate will assist in delivering services to the marketplace in an organized and disciplined manner, with a focus on continuous improvement in consulting, Project Management, and technical guidance. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver professional consulting services using ESE Partners' systems and methodologies. Serve as a technical associate in Environmental Science and Engineering disciplines. Assist in managing multiple projects with varying environmental scopes. Oversee technical report preparation, including compliance audits, air permitting, GHG and TRI reporting, and sustainability analysis. Develop scopes of work, proposals, budgets, and project strategies for air quality compliance projects. Manage project budgets to stay within estimates with client approval. Negotiate permits and project goals with regulators on behalf of clients. Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, regulators, and vendors. Conduct client needs assessments, project scoping, and follow-ups; oversee financial performance and collection efforts. Perform field investigations and visual inspections as needed. Author/review technical reports per ASTM, EPA, TCEQ, and RRC guidelines. Develop solutions to mitigate environmental issues related to air permitting and emissions. Manage and interpret laboratory analytical data. Approve subcontractor accounts. Collaborate with Arc GIS team for site maps and drawings. Maintain an average utilization of 85%. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. At least 5+ years of experience in Environmental Compliance and project management. Strong knowledge of air quality regulations, including the Clean Air Act. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience training and guiding junior staff. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site assessments. Preferred Skills:
Experience with NSR and Operating permit applications in various states. Dispersion modeling experience with SCREEN3 and/or AERMOD. Why Join Us?
