None Job Description
Specific duties and responsibilities for the Project Engineer shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Develop full understanding of the scope and interdependence of all Contract Documents for both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build Projects. Coordinate and facilitate with Program/Project Management Team (PMT), Design Professionals to obtain the Owner’s decisions as necessary during all Program and Project phases. In conjunction with PMT, lead selective bid processes during procurement phases and assist Owner and Project Manager in initiating, evaluating, reviewing and recording of bids. Interface with Outreach Coordinator to achieve target mandates in SLEB participation. Observe and record jobsite activity in accordance with required contractual frequency. Identify and resolve challenges to schedule and cost issues. Manage effective document control mechanisms for the Project to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract documents. Evaluate change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status. Review and evaluate submittals of shop drawings, material data, technical information and samples and take appropriate action based upon contract specifications. In Design-Bid-Build Projects, proactively assist Project Managers with Request For Information (RFI) processing. In Design-Build Projects, monitor the Contractors Submittal and RFI processes. Become familiar with all schedules and coordinate resolution of conflicts between Projects. Review and evaluate Contractors’ daily Method of Procedures and assist Project Managers with daily communications. Assist the Project Managers as requested with other activities. Assist the Project Manager in the maintenance of effective cost control mechanisms for the project. Participate and/or chair meetings, coordinate agendas and follow up on action items. Utilize safe work practices and follow directives, policies, and procedures for assisting and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment. Become familiar with safety requirements of the Project and monitor compliance. Practice effective communication and maintain professional relationships with GSA and SRJ Projects. Participate in all Project Close-Out activities and requirements in accordance with contract documents. Regularly review as-built drawings to ensure Contractors meet their obligations. Full time onsite in Dublin, CA Working Hours
The Project Engineer shall be required to work during the working hours established by the PMT. Occasional Overtime work on Saturdays may be required. Skills and Requirements
