Dewberry is seeking a
Senior Bridge Project Engineer
for its New York, NY office. The team player we seek must have a BS/MS degree in Structural Engineering and 10+ years of experience delivering NYSDOT, MTA, PANYNJ, and NYCDOT projects as a project engineer and project manager. Current state of practice for design-build projects coupled with accelerated bridge construction techniques are preferred. The successful candidate will lead and manage the design of simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel and concrete construction) and a variety of transportation-related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures) using applicable software. Bridge design work encompasses new and replacement bridges, bridge widening, and bridge rehabilitation. The candidate will be responsible for and complete all phases of structural project development including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, development of contract plans, cost estimates, and technical specifications and reports. Successfully leading a team of structural engineers and drafters as well as coordinating with other project disciplines and clients will be required to complete assignments. The individual should also be familiar with NYS/NYC public agency, authority, and municipal codes and standards. The ability to interact well with clients, contractors, client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams is essential. Responsibilities
Manages design and design-build projects. Assigns tasks to engineers, technicians, or administrative staff. Mentors, coaches, and directs staff engineers. Plans and coordinates the work. Manages subconsultants. Coordinates with NYC, NYS, and Federal government agencies. Prepares and takes responsibility for scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Assists and champions transportation proposals to provide professional services. Required Skills & Required Experience
BS in Civil Engineering (MS in Structural Engineering preferred) NY PE license 10+ years of structural engineering experience on bridges NYSDOT, MTA, TBTA, PANYNJ, and/or NYCDOT engineering and project management experience. Design Build experience is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills. A clean driving record is required. Don’t meet every single requirement? The projected range for this position is $125,000-$190,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
