Senior Research Engineer - AI/ML for Speech Synthesis and Processing
in our U.S. R&D labs located in San Jose, San Mateo, and Los Angeles. The role involves researching and developing advanced speech synthesis and processing technologies, emphasizing AI & Machine Learning for Sony's innovative products and services. The engineer will develop core algorithms, analyze system standards, and collaborate with patent attorneys to secure intellectual property. Responsibilities include data analysis, problem-solving, and contributing to the company's technological advancements. Qualifications Ph.D., Ph.D. candidate, or MS with 3+ years related experience in CS, Electrical Engineering, or similar. Research experience in AI/ML, Speech Synthesis, and related fields. Proficiency in neural network modeling, optimization using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent. Strong programming skills in Python and/or modern C++. Knowledge of zero-shot and/or few-shot learning. Natural language processing experience is a plus. Responsibilities Research and develop state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms for speech technologies. Implement, optimize, and document algorithms for Sony products. Collaborate across teams and with academic partners; publish papers and file patents.
