telecommunications network engineers
with 2 or more years of experience to join our
certified, award-winning, and innovative information technology team!
Jobs are located in various parts of Maryland, such as Columbia, etc. A telecommunication network engineer performs maintenance, sustainment of existing networks, and identification/correction of issues.
Responsibilities include resolving routine network problems, operating network analyzers, WAN test equipment, and network simulators. Monitoring data or voice system networks for messages, alarms, or issues, activating scripts as alarms occur, confirming message accuracy, and determining problem severity. Troubleshooting problems using scripts and routine procedures, escalating issues when necessary, researching issues for predefined resolution, and documenting results. Communicating alarms and actions taken, executing scheduled maintenance routines, identifying and resolving issues, and activating/deactivating network lines as per schedules. Performing first- and second-level problem determination, interfacing with users and vendors, and following detailed work instructions. Why work for us?

telecommunications network engineering
skills, candidates shall possess: Experience with installation and configuration of network devices such as firewalls, switches, routers, cabling, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper devices. Experience supporting WAN technologies like SONET (OC3, OC48, OC192), DS3, T1, etc. Experience with Taclanes/KG-175, etc. Experience with MPLS, BGP, VPNs, etc. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to drive a company vehicle. Availability to work an 8-hour shift between 6 am and 6 pm, as determined by management, unless otherwise specified. Required Skills: An IAT level II baseline certification. Desired Skills: CompTIA Network+, CCENT, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent certifications. Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Associate's degree in engineering technology from an accredited college. Alternatively, four (4) years of relevant experience with the same degree requirement.
