Quality and Research Development Lab Manager
An innovative manufacturer dedicated to sustainability and advanced solutions across multiple industries is seeking a Quality Lab Manager for its state-of-the-art facility in a prime Southeast metropolitan area. This role is central to the company's operations, focusing on lab testing completeness, equipment maintenance, data analysis, and cross-department collaboration to uphold and enhance product quality. With leadership responsibilities including the management and mentorship of a team and developing strategic company practices through quality testing innovations, this position is geared towards fostering expertise and professional growth within the field.
Salary:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee and ensure the optimal operation of all Quality Lab activities and manage daily tasks of 3 Quality Technicians. Develop training programs and ensure all QA Lab Department employees are proficient in laboratory procedures and equipment use. Conduct analysis and prepare detailed reports comparing the physical properties of the companys products against competitive products, providing actionable insights to R&D teams. Act as the principal point of communication for customers, suppliers, and external parties regarding the organization's quality systems and procedures. Lead product and process validation projects to ensure compliance with quality standards and industry regulations. Provide vital support to other departments by facilitating the integration of quality standards in various production stages. Minimum Position Qualifications: Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in Quality Lab settings, particularly in material testing or similar roles. Bachelors Degree in Quality, Chemistry, Engineering, Packaging Science, or related technical discipline is required. Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze data, and draw practical conclusions essential for strategic decision-making. Proven leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and operational excellence. Comprehensive knowledge and operational skills in handling laboratory testing equipment like FT-IR, MVTR, Tensile, etc. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with multi-layer films and converting processes such as Extrusion, Printing, Laminating highly advantageous. Familiarity with quality management systems like SQF, FDA, ISO 9001, etc., beneficial. Previous involvement with international compliance and regulations trends will be an added plus. Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage staff and interact with stakeholders. Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills for effective report generation and data interpretation. Adaptability and continuous learning aptitude to keep up with industry advancements and technology. Leadership and mentoring skills to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
