The IT Engineer will join a small development team responsible for creating, expanding, and supporting the existing codebase for the Cell DIVE application. This role focuses on developing and optimizing .NET WPF/WCF software used in biological fluorescent imaging workflows. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with .NET technologies, WPF, WCF, and related frameworks, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities: • Develop .NET WPF/WCF software for image acquisition and post-processing in biological imaging workflows • Maintain and support the existing codebase by fixing defects and identifying opportunities to refactor and optimize • Participate in technical debt discussions and implement solutions • Work with image acquisition systems, including capturing, manipulating, and optimizing image data • Conduct regular technical design and code reviews to improve the team's technical quality • Contribute to Agile processes throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience, including architecting and maintaining thin/thick clients and APIs • Extensive experience with .NET, .NET Core, C#, and Visual Studio • Proficiency in WCF, WPF, MVVM, and MEF • Strong technical contributor with a proven track record of using expertise to enhance team performance • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and willingness to work out of the Bellevue, WA office Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL • Familiarity with version control systems like SVN, Git, GitHub, or SourceTree • Experience working in the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment • Initiative to explore and experiment with new software frameworks • Ability to creatively solve problems and contribute independently and collaboratively
