Position: PC and Network Hardware Deployment Specialist Location: Moline, IL Job Type: Full-Time On-Site Department: IT Services / Managed Services Reports To: Director of Operations Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled PC and Network Hardware Deployment Specialist to join our Managed Services Provider (MSP) team. This role involves installing, configuring, and deploying PCs, laptops, and network hardware for our clients while ensuring a smooth transition between old and new hardware. The ideal candidate will have experience with IT deployments, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-first approach. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and deploy new PCs, laptops, and peripherals (monitors, docking stations, printers, etc.) Migrate user data, applications, and settings from old devices to new ones Ensure all required software and security configurations are correctly applied Perform quality assurance checks post-deployment to verify functionality Network Hardware Deployment
Install and configure network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues during deployments Work with the networking team to ensure proper integration of new hardware into the client’s environment
Client Transition Support
Provide on-site or remote end-user support during hardware transitions Educate users on new devices, features, and best practices Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during upgrades and replacements Deliver a high level of customer service, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed records of deployed hardware and configurations Document deployment processes and provide feedback for process improvements Create user guides or knowledge base articles for common deployment-related issues
General IT Support & Troubleshooting
Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues Perform routine maintenance and firmware updates on deployed hardware
Required Qualifications: Experience in PC deployments, hardware installation, and IT support Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and common enterprise applications Familiarity with network hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and access points Ability to troubleshoot hardware and network issues effectively Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Experience with imaging software and automated deployment tools is a plus Preferred Qualifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant IT certifications Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management tools Understanding of basic cybersecurity best practices related to endpoint deployments Prior experience working in an MSP or IT service provider environment Working Conditions: On-site and remote client work required Ability to lift and transport PC and networking hardware (up to 50 lbs.)
