We are seeking a skilled Cobol JCL Developer to be responsible for the analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation of key projects.
The ideal candidate will combine expertise in financial institutions with the ability to conceptualize and develop programs based on provided specifications.
This role will involve creating solutions that align with core banking systems and ensuring high-quality deliverables through comprehensive testing and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze project requirements and design solutions aligned with core banking systems.
Develop processes and programs to meet the needs identified in the analysis phase.
Perform unit testing according to organizational best practices and revise programs to eliminate errors.
Design and implement tests to ensure end-to-end quality for major deliverables; analyze test results and report issues found.
Review test results with the team and prepare final program documentation.
Complete necessary documentation to follow the change management process for production deployment.
Participate in the post-implementation phase to ensure successful deployment and the delivery of required information.
Iterate processes as required by the project to ensure the timely and successful delivery of information.
Required Qualifications
Strong experience with Cobol and JCL programming languages. Expertise in operating systems such as LINUX and UNIX. Experience with Shell Script and PowerShell scripting languages. Knowledge of Oracle databases. Familiarity with tools such as Microfocus and Eclipse. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial institutions or banking-related projects. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team. Experience working in agile environments and understanding of SDLC.
