Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a dynamic Senior MOT Designer in our Engineering Services group. You will be part of our rapidly growing MOT Department which works directly with the structural, geotechnical, traffic, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines in engineering, estimating, and construction. This infrastructure design group is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the alternative delivery of infrastructure projects. As a Senior MOT Designer, you will be leading and mentoring engineers/designers and collaborating with our other design centers to provide MOT expertise and designs for projects across North America. Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's (KIE) Design-Build/Alternative Delivery team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedules, control costs, and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. Our staff shares experiences gained, innovative concepts, and best practices for all projects that we support. This could be based out of the following offices: Lone Tree, CO (Denver Area) Westlake, TX (North Fort Worth) Bellevue, WA (Seattle Area) Position could qualify for more flexible remote work based on the candidate's experience. Responsibilities
Work with engineering team in developing preliminary and final design plans and details. Use Bentley Micro Station / AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software; ORD experience preferred. Produce documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Follow various DOT Standards and work with companies CAD Standards when applicable. Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire Junior team members. Qualifications
Associate Degree or high school diploma. 12+ years’ experience in CAD production of highway and civil designs. Design experience or Design-Build project experience a plus. 5+ years’ MOT or traffic design / delivery experience. Knowledge of engineering principles and materials for MOT / highway work. Read and understand construction documents. Proficiency in Micro Station. Knowledge in AutoCAD a plus. Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of 3D modeling a plus. The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with Engineers, Designers, and Construction team. Critical thinking skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to Office or Site. Other Requirements
Regular, reliable attendance. Work productively and meet deadlines timely. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. Base Compensation:
