The parish is looking for a team-oriented professional to help us effectively communicate its mission, goals, and activities within the parish and to the broader community. With the new Director of Pastoral Ministry, the ideal candidate will be a crucial resource in our evangelization efforts through sharing communication resources, creating impactful designs for events, expanding our social media presence, and managing additional responsibilities as a part of our team. Responsibilities:
Compile weekly bulletin with input from multiple sources. Compile weekly Electronic Newsletter, with similar content to parish bulletin. Assist in uploading graphics to our electronic street sign and narthex TV display. Assist in maintaining parish website and social media pages. Suggest strategies to increase parishioner awareness and involvement in parish events. Serve as media contact for the parish. Pitch stories to local media and work with communications personnel from the Archdiocese of Chicago for publicizing our ministries and events. Oversee parish calendar, manage Room Requests for groups wanting to hold an event on our campus. Lead the annual Calendar Meeting across all ministries. Foster relationships with parishioners and parish leadership on a wide variety of issues and topics. Requirements:
The position is primarily an in-office role during the week. Occasional night and weekend hours could also be needed. Experience in marketing, communications, advertising, or related fields with outstanding written, verbal, and editing skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable multi-tasking, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be detail-oriented. Time management and organizational skills are essential. Must be familiar with Office 365 (especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher), church databases (such as Pushpay), web hosts (such as Squarespace or Weebly), and Canva and/or programs in the Adobe Creative Cloud. Practicing Catholic preferred as familiarity with Catholic faith, sacraments, liturgy, and terminology is crucial. Special Directions:
