Job Description
This position is for a CGS principal-level Virtualization and Cloud engineer. Key responsibilities include designing, configuring, and managing enterprise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere 6.5 6.7. The role requires understanding of cloud technologies, interoperability between on-premise virtualization and cloud services, Hyperconverged infrastructure, and software-defined storage to support technical solutions for the EOUSA and USAOs. Setup, configuration, and deployment of virtualization systems and scripting technologies for high availability, including VMware Center, ESXi, Horizon View VDI, PowerShell, and PowerCLI. Improve backup, Disaster Recovery, and Continuity of Operations. Build and maintain Windows 10 images for VDI. Assess and recommend infrastructure and technology improvements. Follow SDLC processes for deploying technical solutions across multiple deployment phases. Maintain a stable VMware environment through hardware and software configuration updates. Work independently, exercising judgment in technical objectives. Qualifications
Extensive experience with VMware Horizon View 7.x, vSphere 6.5/6.7, and related components. Over 4 years of experience with VMware App Volumes, Horizon View, and vSphere products. Experience in requirements gathering, system design, testing, and documentation. Hands-on system engineering experience with VMware Horizon View, App Volumes, UEM, OMIVV, Dell OME, Cisco UCS, Windows 10, PowerShell scripting. Understanding of Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, and backup/recovery. Ability to create reports using PowerBI or similar tools. Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure like Azure and Hyper Converged Infrastructure. Understanding of ITIL and architectural frameworks such as TOGAF. Preferred: Experience with VMware vCloud Suite, vRealize, vSAN, and government software policies. Security clearance is required. Additional Information
