Torch Technologies, an employee-owned defense contractor is seeking a Senior level Weapon System Architect/Developer to join a high-performing team supporting a DoD program analyzing the next generation architecture for Rotorcraft systems. This project will utilize model-based systems engineering, so experience in this discipline is highly desired. Work will include analysis of current software architectures and developing models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development. The candidate must be capable of supporting integration activities of the next generation of aviation platform system, subsystem, component, and mission equipment into current and future DoD architectures in a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) compliant framework. The candidate will have experience and a record of accomplishment applying system engineering and architecture doctrines to system design and development.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience and 15 years of experience with System Engineering and Architecture of Aviation Systems including Commercial and DoD Aviation programs
Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), SysML, LML, UPDM modeling tools
Understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
Previously supported a major defense acquisition weapon system platform program in a high-visibility environment with mission-critical responsibilities.
Proven ability to envision, model, and produce designs to meet functional requirements.
Experience designing/developing systems that are easily extensible.
Ability to partition large systems into a hierarchy of subsystems which can be assigned to other engineers.
Capability to author various types of project documentation.
Self-motivated yet able to work effectively with other developers.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required, Masters Degree preferred.
Desired Qualifications
Domain knowledge of Rotorcraft or Aviation platform and systems modeling and simulation highly desired.
Experience using MBSE tools to convey architectural and technical concepts.
Knowledge and experience with 3-DOF and 6-DOF tool development.
Experience and familiarity with the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Standards and experience advising the Government on best practices for optimization the application of Open Systems Architecture at the appropriate levels of the Work Breakdown structure

An active secret clearance is required.
