The Application Analyst I/Physician Liaison is responsible for the support and coordination of all activities relating to the implementation and use of automated systems provided to physicians and other clinical practitioners including CPOE and Physician documentation. Education and Formal Training: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a degree in an allied health profession field with current professional licensure or certification is preferred. Experience using or building CPOE Systems is preferred. Solid knowledge of the workflow needs of providers required. Validated relevant work experience considered. Work Experience:
Prior work with or for Licensed Independent Practitioners, involvement in CPOE initiatives and/or development of Physician Information Systems preferred. Skills and Abilities: Sincere desire to help the physicians and other clinical providers understand and apply information technology to promote best practices. Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation/facilitation skills. Strong detail orientation and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with IT co-workers and end-users. Excellent organizational decision-making, negotiating, and analytical skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Ability to approach IT issues in a creative, productive manner. Ability to effectively manage multiple activities of varying complexity while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to manage expectations with the attitude of recommending solutions rather than presenting problems. Ability to formulate and define system scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of clinical and/or business requirements to support the Health Systems Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan. Proactively recognize needs, anticipate outcomes and consequences of different approaches, and recommend modification of plans in achieving desired outcomes on behalf of the end-users. Independently learn appropriate techniques to apply and adapt new ideas in related, different, or changing situations. Aware of current information technology here at the health system; ability to apply this knowledge to meet operational and end-users needs. Ability to develop functional working knowledge of systems and to integrate this knowledge to achieve innovative solutions.
