ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a creative leader with the skills, experience, and reputation that reflect the importance of this role in our design practice. You will be responsible for implementing our goal to be one of the most innovative, creative, and highly regarded design firms in the world. As an integral part of the office leadership team, you will nurture and develop the people and culture of the office and serve as a voice for design excellence both firm-wide and externally. WHAT YOU WILL DO As a Design Leader, you will report to the Senior Design Leader in your location or region. Your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leading design efforts by communicating and representing design goals to clients and teams, especially during early project phases. Co-leading visioning, setting conceptual direction, and collaborating across all development phases to ensure design quality. Supporting strategic pursuits. Creating innovative design concepts that align with client culture, goals, and aspirations, considering societal and environmental impacts. Delivering responsive solutions. Preparing and leading client presentations that tell compelling stories, communicate key client goals, and demonstrate how design adds value. Collaborating with marketing to craft narratives of our work. Working within our integrated practice by collaborating with technical leaders and subject matter experts to create holistic solutions. Incorporating sustainable and performance-based strategies into designs, supporting decarbonization and the AIA 2030 Commitment. Contributing to the firm's recognition through awards and publications. Promoting our brand locally, regionally, and nationally, including cultivating your reputation as a creative leader through conference presentations and industry engagement.

Client and Business Development Developing and maintaining client relationships, building trust, and collaborating on new opportunities. Leveraging existing relationships and seeking new client opportunities with marketing and business development teams. Participating in pursuit strategies from target identification to proposal and interviews. Contributing to a revenue goal of $2 million in net signed fees annually in collaboration with practice and market leaders.

ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture; from an accredited program preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in a design leadership role, with at least 3 years leading teams. US Architectural Registration preferred. Additional credentials like LEED are a plus. Strong portfolio of significant work, recognized by awards or publications. Excellent presentation and storytelling skills. Business acumen and strategic understanding required. Professional maturity and respectful communication skills. Travel flexibility required.

The salary range for this position is $158,200 to $197,800 annually, based on experience and location.
