Computer Systems Engineer
for a long-term opportunity with a large simulation company in Tampa, FL. The purpose of the Computer Systems Engineer position is to
design, develop, integrate, test, and document software
for the control of flight simulation systems. Responsibilities Design, develop, integrate, test, and document software for the control of flight simulation software and computer systems Utilize languages such as C/C++ and shell scripting in Linux or Windows environments to develop or modify software and applications Read, write, and maintain software Follow established company and industry processes and procedures Select appropriate computer equipment to meet system requirements Recommend, incorporate, and modify simulator designs and documentation Debug training systems and configure computer systems to meet requirements Collaborate with project teams and engineers across disciplines to deliver functionalities Assist in the integration of software and hardware Communicate ongoing activities and results effectively to stakeholders Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members
Qualifications
Strong computer systems background and analytical math skills 2+ years experience with Linux and Windows systems, proficient in C/C++ or C# Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN Technical specialization in at least one area Ability to design, code, and test flight simulation software Ability to develop positive relationships with customers Effective communication skills adaptable to different audiences Capability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently or in teams, and to resolve problems effectively Understanding of configuration management, hardware interfaces, and large-scale software development Keen attention to detail to meet business requirements and operational supportability Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred) Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain/maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
