The Role: Software Engineer, Data Platform What you'll do Architect and develop the core Genius Sports data platform - delivering a modern, performant, and scalable solution that empowers our customers and enables our product engineering teams to move fast Build infrastructure, tooling, and applications that support the organization's AI, analytics, and data distribution objectives Develop robust observability solutions that ensure the health and performance of the platform What we're looking for Strong software engineering fundamentals 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer Proficiency with modern programming languages (e.g. Rust, TypeScript, Python) Proficiency with modern streaming technologies (e.g. Pulsar, Kafka, RisingWave, Flink, Arroyo) Proficiency with modern database technologies and concepts (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, OLTP, OLAP, data modeling) Proficiency with modern observability tooling and concepts (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus, tracing) Passion and excitement - for growth and learning, for our domain, for problem-solving and technical challenges Strong sense of ownership and responsibility What sets you apart Proficiency with Rust Proficiency with Pulsar Proficiency with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes Domain knowledge - experience working with sports data and/or a passion for sports What's in it for you? The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $185,000. There are a number of factors which affect what the specific pay offer would be for this role, including location, seniority, and relevant educational and working experience. This is base salary only - all full-time roles will also be eligible to take part in Genius benefits and some roles may be eligible to take part in a variable compensation plan. How we work Genius will be returning to the office 4 days a week, and this will give you the opportunity to work collaboratively face-to-face with colleagues in our Los Angeles office.
