Job Summary
This position is responsible for testing software-as-a-service on a team of other software engineers that are focused on continuous software delivery model using agile methodologies. This position has experience leading the design, development, and maintenance of automated tests in modern software products using microservices that are focused on business domains and follow domain driven design principles and practices. With your team, you will work to have high confidence in quality of the software in releasing continuously.
What you will do
Develop automated tests and test new software functionality while balancing the testing pyramid
Establish a high level of code quality by writing unit tests, integration tests, automation tests, participating in code reviews, executing test cases at the acceptance testing level as part of the functional testing or regression testing of the product
Lead the team to create tests that meet coverage levels
Analyze requirements and provide estimates of work involved
Diagnose root causes of software defects and recommend required actions and added validation needs
Work with other Software Engineers to analyze the testing coverage to best determine the quality of software before deploying using CI/CD best practices
Mentor more junior test engineers regarding best practices with an ability to explain technical concepts in written and verbal forms
Create and maintain application build quality processes
Work closely with team to create continuous integration processes
Support and maintain production systems and support the deployments of those environments
Participate in code reviews and assure adherence to software coding standards
Determine and work with other software engineers on defining system specifications and levels of testing required to meet requirements
Qualifications
Must haves:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience
8+ years of test automation and/or software development experience
Experience with Java, React, Selenium, and Junit
Ability to conduct automated tests for API endpoints
Ability to write unit tests and ensure proper code coverage
Ability to implement test automation derived from technical specifications and code analysis
Ability to derive and design tests from general product requirements
Knowledge of test driven development, end-to-end testing, and the testing pyramid
Knowledge of test cases, test plans, and test suites
Knowledge of application design patterns
Ability to problem-solve in a technical space
Knowledge of data storage formats, tools, and languages
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Act as a resource for colleagues and train engineers in best practices for automated testing
The posted range for this position is
$96,000 - $168,000
which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a
12.5% bonus
not reflected in the posted range.
