Analyze and debug existing mainframe systems to identify and resolve issues Lead efforts to transition legacy mainframe infrastructure to modern platforms while ensuring business continuity Design, develop, and maintain Java applications that interface with modernized systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned with business goals Mentor junior developers in mainframe and Java technologies Document system designs, specifications, and updates Ensure adherence to development standards, coding practices, and security guidelines What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Experience with mainframe technologies (e.g., COBOL, PL/1, Natural) Proven Java application development skills Ability to debug and resolve complex system issues Experience with system migration and modernization projects Strong communication skills Certifications: CompTIA Security+, IBM Certified Specialist, Oracle Certified Java SE Developer Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps methodologies Experience with automated migration tools and legacy DevOps tools Exposure to modern stacks like .NET, microservices, data analytics Fortuna acts as a staffing agency sourcing and presenting candidates for client opportunities.
