Full Time Integration Specialist / UAS Pilot

will

work under the direction of the Program Manager and UAS Department Manager

and will operate, pilot, and maintain unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) piloting software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Provide technical guidance as well as after-action reports following field experimentation.

Repair and maintain structural, electronic control systems, and subassemblies of prototype UAS, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) UAS platforms, and various other system types, including military UAS.

Perform balance and flight-checks for approving UAS for return-to-service.

Conduct UAS flight operations, including mission planning, image capture and transmission, GPS navigation, and airspace management.

Maintain current UAS inventory organization.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years’ experience with remote control aircraft, prototype UAS, COTS UAS platforms, and other system types, including military UAS.

3+ years’ electrical (avionics) integration, material fabrication, with extensive knowledge of Mission Planner and other ground control software.

Possess or be able to obtain an FAA Part 107 license.

Experience with military systems, computer systems, GPS, RF video transmission, aviation, airspace management, aerodynamics, map reading, remote-controlled systems, electronics, Mission Planner, and model aviation.

Ability to maintain personal flight logs and certification documentation.

Knowledge of mechanical assemblies including actuators, servos, electric motors, and wiring components.

Knowledge of electronic/gas R/C systems and subassemblies.

Knowledge of composite materials like Kevlar, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and their use in UAS manufacturing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.

Effective communication skills in both field and office environments, orally and in writing.

Focus on field safety for all operational personnel.

Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.

Additional requirements:

Travel up to 40% both within the US (CONUS) and outside (OCONUS), approximately 6-10 trips per year, each lasting 10-14 days.

Employment contingent upon obtaining a US Passport within six months of hire.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Balsa wood fabrication.

Familiarity with adhesives and common shop tools (wrenches, drivers, dremels, etc.).

Knowledge of machining is a plus.

Military background or familiarity with military command and control structures.

Understanding of organizational interfaces with military, federal, state, and local agencies.

Strong time management, problem-solving skills, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.

Ability to adapt to shifting program requirements and work effectively in a team.

Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Security Clearance:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance. The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
