Sr. Software Engineer, Android (Enterprise Platforms Technology) Senior Software Engineer, Android (Enterprise Platforms Technology) As a Capital One Senior Software Engineer, Android, you'll work on a variety of software products and services creating and supporting fully-automated unit/regression testing of mobile applications and software hosted on the cloud. You’ll have the opportunity to work on Android test automation using Espresso framework. You will be using Android Studio as your IDE while developing your tests using Kotlin and Java programming languages. You will also be responsible for creating build automation tools using Gradle. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices. What You’ll Do: Develop Android client code solutions that deliver on Product Strategy and adhere to established engineering best practices, design guidelines and principles.

Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity.

Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality.

Be an active advocate of the mobile platform through both internal and external developer communities.

Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Kotlin, Swift 3rd party libraries, etc.).

Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team.

Mentor junior to mid-level members of the team.

Actively engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.).

Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with Senior Engineers and Architects.

Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across sprint teams.

Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions.

Review pull requests and ensure adherence to Kotlin and other language idioms.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree.

At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).

At least 2 years of experience building Android applications.

At least 2 years of experience with Kotlin.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree.

3+ years of experience building Android applications.

3+ years of experience with Kotlin.

Experience with unit testing tools like Gradle.

Experience in automation unit testing using Espresso.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $158,600 - $181,000 for Senior Software Engineer Richmond, VA: $144,200 - $164,600 for Senior Software Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
