Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer to join our Platform Engineering and Platform Reliability team. This team develops tools and platforms that enhance the experience of millions of customers using Comcast’s Connected Living applications, including xFi, Xfinity Home Security, and Connected Living Automation services. As a Senior DevOps/SRE Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software development, operations, and systems engineering to build, maintain, and scale innovative solutions. You will also play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge tools, optimizing workflows, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our platforms, and providing 24/7 support for critical services. Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain tools and platform services to support developers and enhance the customer experience. Build and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using HashiCorp tools like Terraform, Vault, and Packer. Automate deployment, configuration management, and operational workflows with Ansible, Molecule, and Python. Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Concourse-CI/CD, ensuring seamless application delivery. Architect and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, ALB/NLB, VPC, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, IAM, API Gateway, and ECS-Fargate. Monitor and maintain system health using tools like Icinga2, Elasticsearch/Kibana, InfluxDB/Grafana, and Datadog. Manage middleware services, including Apache HTTPD, Nginx, Kafka/Zookeeper, Oracle Database, WebLogic, and Storm/Nimbus. Optimize networking solutions, including VLANs and load balancing for scalability and performance. Implement containerization solutions with Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient deployment and scaling of applications. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, engaging appropriate resources and providing technical guidance to the team. Drive operational excellence by identifying bottlenecks and automating processes to enhance efficiency. Mentor team members and contribute to the development of best practices. Engage all appropriate resources, lead technical bridges, and provide troubleshooting direction for driving issues to closure. Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks through engineering practices and process improvements. Stay current on cutting-edge technology, educate others, and explain complex subjects to a variety of audiences as a multi-domain expert. Take proactive initiative on projects, demonstrating ownership, curiosity, and innovation while instilling trust in others. Handle rapidly shifting priorities and dependencies with flexibility and composure. Collaborate as a great teammate, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, successfully articulating technical concepts to both business and technical audiences. Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: 5+ years in DevOps/SRE roles with strong expertise in the required technologies. Technical Skills: Proficiency with HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Vault, Packer). Experience with Ansible, Molecule, and Python for automation. Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud deployment methodologies. Expertise in monitoring tools like Icinga2, Grafana, and Datadog. Familiarity with middleware technologies such as Kafka, Oracle DB, and WebLogic. Linux system administration experience, particularly with Rocky Linux 8. Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Programming skills in Python, Bash, Go, Java, and Node.js. Knowledge of networking concepts, including VLAN, OSI layers, and load balancing. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Concourse. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in designing and implementing microservices-based platforms. Proficiency in troubleshooting distributed systems and ensuring operational stability. Strong understanding of observability principles, including metrics, logging, and tracing. Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from design to deployment.
