St. Jude is seeking a bioinformatics scientist to lead and participate in developing scientific products and initiatives on the St. Jude Cloud project. The role involves working on pediatric cancer data sharing, developing the pediatric cancer reference knowledgebase, PeCan, and participating in cross-ecosystem projects such as developing diagnosis ontologies and harmonizing scientific information. The position also involves developing and publishing bioinformatics workflows for data harmonization. Job Responsibilities: Perform statistical analysis, algorithm implementation, and programming across biotechnology platforms, ensuring quality checks. Design and prepare training materials on bioinformatics software, databases, and data analysis. Act as liaison between end-users, software developers, and departments. Establish protocols and best practices, evaluate products, and recommend solutions. Lead database development, implementation, and maintenance, including data collection and hardware/software coordination. Develop programs for data analysis within databases. Coordinate projects across departments, delegate tasks, and meet departmental goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain regular attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, cheminformatics, statistics, computer science, or related fields. Master's degree or PhD preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 4+ years, or PhD with no experience. Experience in programming/scripting languages (R preferred) and statistical packages.
