Sulzer . We are seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our Services_AME team in Baton Rouge, LA, United States. Main Responsibilities:
Perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools. Read and interpret all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Design setups and methods where none exist. Instruct shop personnel in machining techniques, set-ups, feeds, and speeds. Operate manual and automatic feeds with high precision. Monitor CNC operations attentively. Load materials and parts properly. Quickly shut down or modify programs to ensure safety and prevent damage. Calculate and anticipate tool offset changes due to wear. Perform CNC maintenance, including oil levels and cleanliness. QC all manufactured parts before removal and communicate results. Suggest methods for higher quality and cost efficiency improvements. Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a CNC Machinist apprentice program or similar training. Experience programming and operating CNC lathes and milling centers. Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct inspections. Proficiency with various machine setups, including grinders, lathes, mills, and drills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of tool geometry, feeds, and speeds. Ability to use precision measuring instruments. Teamwork and overtime flexibility.
