Evening Shift General Summary And Purpose

Ensures high quality, cost-effective nursing and related services to patients, physicians, and appropriate customer groups. Functions as a clinical expert within the service area and assists the unit Manager in the management of the unit including quality improvement activities. Interacts with patients and staff on an ongoing basis. Skills, Knowledge, Education And Experience

RN license, as defined by your primary work state (Idaho or Oregon), issued prior to hire date. Comprehensive knowledge of nursing leadership and supervision, typically obtained through a bachelors degree in nursing and three years of RN experience in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS. Other certifications as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk. Essential Functions

Adheres to Health System's guiding behaviors and standards, including communication and professional conduct. Assists the Manager in overseeing department operations, including staffing, quality of care, and program development. Collaborates on quality assurance and safety initiatives. Plans, assigns, and monitors staff work. Participates in hiring, staff development, and performance evaluations. Performs as a role model and maintains current nursing knowledge. Participates in orientation and mentoring of new staff. Reviews policies, patient grievances, and incident reports. Facilitates communication among patients, families, and healthcare team members.
