The
Systems Administrator I
provides support, technical direction and expertise of enterprise systems and infrastructure, including planning, administering, and implementing all Information Technology/Information Systems requirements. This position also performs systems administration related duties with a primary focus on enterprise IT/IS infrastructure (storage, email, virtualization, databases) and other core layer technologies. Essential Functions
Manage the day-to-day operations of all IT/IS infrastructure including storage, applications, databases, email services, systems management, network resources and server/virtual infrastructure. Automate tasks and improve operational efficiencies by designing VBS, PowerShell or related scripts. Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots all network resources including servers, network infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, storage, applications, and sub-systems. Implements and maintains Information Systems security as mandated by state, county, and internal requirements. Performs multi-tiered incident, change management, problem resolution, and end-user support. Monitors faults, performance, and capacity issues; prepares remediation reports and documentation. Proactively researches, analyzes, identifies and resolves trends of utilization or errors and implement appropriate performance tuning and troubleshooting techniques. Continuously identifies opportunities for process and quality improvement and implements applicable technologies and/or process changes. Implement and configure highly available infrastructure including design and test of fail-over services, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, load balancing, etc. Implement and configure systems management and proactive monitoring tools; troubleshoots and resolves identified telecommunication and network issues. Implement and oversee backup systems. Protect all systems and end user data. Document all systems administration processes and installation procedures. Interfaces with internal and external customers and vendors to determine network infrastructure needs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Required Qualifications
Associates Degree or equivalent certifications/training/experience in information technology, computer science, engineering or related field. CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft MSCE/MCITP or related certification. Four (4) years full time experience providing systems administration within a large scale network infrastructure including experience administrating Windows and/or Linux servers. Experience with and must be able to install, troubleshoot, administer and maintain enterprise virtualization, e-mail, database, storage, systems management and/or other data center related resources and infrastructure. Demonstrated experience with and ability to implement, configure and troubleshoot Windows Servers and services, Active Directory, NAS shares, group policies, provisioning storage, package and deploy network based applications, etc. Experience and broad knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, iSCSI, RFCs, and other network protocols. Demonstrated experience with network monitoring tools, preferably Microsoft SCOM and WUG. Demonstrated experience performing and analyzing network packet captures using packet analyzers such as Wireshark. Ability to work off-hours as needed/required. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively complete work assignments and projects in a timely fashion. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft MSCE/MCITP, VMWare VCP or related certifications. Experience or good understanding of fiber channel or FCOE. Experience and broad knowledge of routing protocols, switch protocols. Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure or related technology. Experience with desktop management preferably Microsoft SCCM. Experience creating Powershell, VBS or other related scripts. Experience implementing high availability network systems and network load balancing. Work experience in K-12 educational setting. Familiarity with the FCPS policies, goals and programs.
