Colorectal surgery focuses on the diagnosis and surgical management of conditions involving the colon, rectum and anus.
This includes managing diseases such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), diverticulitis, rectal prolapse and anorectal disorders.
The work involves routine procedures and complex surgical interventions, allowing for a high level of specialization and clinical expertise. Full time position with daytime hours of Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM No call requirements In a Colon Rectal Surgery Physician Assistant career with LVHN, youll experience: Provide care for patients both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities include seeing new and established patients in outpatient clinic, rounding on patients in the hospital setting, as well as first assisting in anorectal and complex abdominal procedures. Advanced abdominal surgeries include open, robotic, and laparoscopic techniques with a focus in minimally invasive surgery using advanced robotics. Perform in–office procedures such as incision and drainage of perianal abscesses, hemorrhoid rubber band ligation, anoscopy, pap smear, among others. See both new and established patients with a balance of both clinic and operative experience. Outpatient clinic will be based primarily at Hecktown Oaks, while inpatient rounding locations include Hecktown Oaks and Muhlenburg. Rarely will the candidate be asked to cover LVHN–Pocono location for both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities.
