Position Summary

Under the direction of the Program Administrator-Bureau of Anatomical Services, operating within the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the anatomical donation program, ensuring the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act and HIPAA privacy rules and regulations have been followed when receiving donors to the program. Incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for the Bureau of Anatomical Services (BAS), for potential and current donors, their families, healthcare professionals, and the BAS’s contracted funeral home, while providing information, support, and guidance about the program guidelines. The incumbent will handle the donor intake process by sourcing medical history from healthcare providers or informants to make determinations of acceptance based on program criteria. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and processing all correspondence, agreements, and vital records, ensuring all information is recorded into the appropriate databases, while maintaining accurate and confidential records of all donors. The Incumbent will prepare regular reports on the program’s activities and performance for the Program Administrator and Course Directors as requested. The incumbent will coordinate the burial process and the process for returning donor remains to family or designated recipient, in accordance with state law. The incumbent will be expected to take compensated calls after hours and on weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience

Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of applicable work experience
