Description

In this role, you will be responsible for shipping world-class user experiences and act as the voice of our end-users. As a Quality Assurance & Automation Engineer, you will support the testing of multiple features and drive for quality via extensive automated and hands-on functional testing of user-facing features and systems for Siri. You will be responsible for setting the bar high, going beyond ensuring a great experience, and helping to ship robust and amazing products taking an active role in shaping the quality of our products. This will demand deep integration with our development engineers, devising test plans and user studies, bug triaging, and supporting technical as well as UX design reviews. Collaborating closely with a team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs), you will be responsible for the authorship of automated tests and test fixtures in service of feature areas of responsibility to enable continual and robust statements of quality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and associated test methodologies.
  • Experience creatively building comprehensive test plans, evaluating risk, filing detailed bug reports, and communicating results.
  • Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing, extending and maintaining test plans, methodologies, and automated tests.
  • Strong programming and automated test authorship skills, preferably in Swift and/or Python.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience in related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem using Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCTest/XCUITest preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with or knowledge of Machine Learned (ML) systems and associated qualification approaches.
  • Proactive self-starter with an attention to detail and a passion for high quality user experiences.
  • Ability to collaborate multi-functionally across various facets of the organization as well as understand technical and interdisciplinary dependencies.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
