JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The University of Tennessee Department of General Dentistry is seeking a full-time Tenure or Non-tenure track Open rank Professor and Chair of Periodontics within the College of Dentistry. This position provides oversight and strategic direction in the areas of periodontal preclinical and clinical content within the dental school pre-doctoral curriculum, including:
- periodontal examination
- diagnosis
- disease prevention
- non-surgical therapy
- surgical therapy
Responsibilities include: managing the academic and clinical programs within the department, overseeing scholarship, patient care, continuing education, service, course development, faculty & staff recruitment and development, research, and pre-doctoral education. The position also offers opportunities for clinical and didactic teaching, research, and service to the College of Dentistry, University, and profession.
