Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) at Phoenix Childrenâ€s is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the full-time Division Chief of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Phoenix Childrenâ€s is a leading healthcare institution dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, exceptional patient care, education and academic excellence, and cutting-edge research. BNI at Phoenix Childrenâ€s is a center of excellence comprising 5 divisions including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology, Developmental Pediatrics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Our mission at BNI is to improve the health and quality of life for children and adolescents with neurological, behavioral, and mental health diseases and disorders. Our neuropsychologists provide both inpatient and outpatient services, specializing in neuropsychological assessment of pediatric patients with complex medical disorders impacting neurocognitive functioning, as well as pre- and post-surgical evaluations for programs such as transplant and epilepsy.

Position Overview

The Division Chief of Pediatric Neuropsychology will lead a dedicated team, advance our mission to provide high-quality care and evaluation, oversee clinical operations, and foster professional growth and research initiatives. The role involves strategic leadership, clinical responsibilities including assessments and consultations, and collaboration across divisions at Phoenix Childrenâ€s. The division currently employs 6 neuropsychologists, with plans to expand, and provides services across multiple hospital settings and regional clinics. The division also contributes to training programs and research activities.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical, health, or counseling psychology or a related discipline, including an APA-accredited internship
  • Board Certification in Neuropsychology through the ABPdN or ABPP / ABCN
  • Administrative and leadership experience in a pediatric hospital or comparable setting
  • At least five years of post-licensure professional practice in neuropsychology
  • Licensed or eligible for psychology licensure in Arizona
  • Leadership style that promotes a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The Division Chief will serve as the leader of their division, achieving clinical, research, and academic goals, providing financial oversight, and supporting the PCH mission of hope, healing, and excellent care for children and families.

Education

  • MD or DO degree (Required)
  • MBA, MPH, MHA, or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience

  • Leadership experience (Required)
  • 5 years in applicable area of specialty (Preferred)

Certifications

  • Current Arizona License to Practice Medicine or ability to obtain prior to start (Required)
  • Board certification or eligibility in the appropriate specialty (Required)

Special Skills

  • Ability to move freely across facilities and examine patients (Required)
  • Effective communication via telephone, computer, or other devices (Required)
  • Availability for after-hours or night call responsibilities (Required)
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and under pressure (Required)
