Vice President, Application Development - Artificial Intelligence (REMOTE)

Position Summary

The VP of Application Development will lead the Engineering teams responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering the platform used by EnableComp RCM Analysts to process complex healthcare claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all application development for EnableComp's platform
• Lead 25 Engineers across onshore and offshore locations with 24/7 operational coverage
• Manage dual-platform strategy: AI-powered agentic systems and legacy .NET infrastructure
• Ensure 99.9% uptime for high-volume claim processing systems
• Drive the technical roadmap aligned with business goals and analyst workflow needs
• Establish and enforce development standards, code reviews, and deployment protocols
• Recruit, develop, and retain senior technical talent in a competitive market
• Implement performance management systems with clear career paths
• Execute an 18-month migration plan from legacy .NET 4.8 to a modern cloud-native AI platform
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline deployments
• Deploy AI development tools with measurable productivity improvements
• Establish architecture review processes and reduce technical debt
• Report to CTO on strategy, team performance, and delivery metrics

Requirements & Qualifications

Leadership & Management

• 10+ years senior management experience reporting to C-level executives
• Proven experience managing hybrid onshore/offshore teams
• Experience scaling engineering organizations

Technical Platform Management

• Production experience with agentic AI frameworks
• Hands-on management of legacy .NET 4.8 environments
• Led modernization initiatives from legacy to cloud-native/microservices

AI Development Tools Implementation

• Deployed and measured impact of AI coding tools (Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot)
• Metrics on developer productivity improvements
• Change management for AI tool adoption

Healthcare Domain Knowledge

• Understanding of healthcare claims processing, especially complex claims
• Experience with healthcare compliance (HIPAA, etc.)
• RCM or healthcare tech background preferred

Special Considerations & Prerequisites

• Experience with zero-downtime deployments in healthcare
• Ability to maintain system performance during volume spikes
• On-call escalation responsibilities
• Experience working with non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness for occasional travel to offshore centers (2-3 times/year)
• Experience with healthcare audits and regulatory exams
• Managing teams under SOX compliance
