Job Summary
The Director of Manufacturing will lead all aspects of Production and Maintenance for ENC bus operations. This is a critical leadership role focused on developing and executing the manufacturing strategy, building high-performance teams, and establishing the structure, systems, and culture necessary to deliver operational excellence. The Director will drive performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM), and will champion a rigorous continuous improvement mindset to reduce hours per unit, lower cost, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Job Summary
The Director of Manufacturing will lead all aspects of Production and Maintenance for ENC bus operations. This is a critical leadership role focused on developing and executing the manufacturing strategy, building high-performance teams, and establishing the structure, systems, and culture necessary to deliver operational excellence. The Director will drive performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale (SQDCM), and will champion a rigorous continuous improvement mindset to reduce hours per unit, lower cost, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Direct daily operations across production, maintenance, weld, paint, and final assembly.
- Develop and implement standard work practices, training systems, and shift consistency.
- Lead efforts to reduce hours per unit and overall manufacturing costs.
- Design and execute scalable organizational structures including managers, supervisors, and operators.
- Foster a safety-first culture with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to align operations with business objectives.
- Ensure vehicles meet all quality specifications and customer expectations.
- Represent manufacturing during audits, walkthroughs, and customer inspections.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams on process control and product integrity.
- Lead initiatives to improve SQDCM metrics and implement Lean manufacturing practices.
- Drive efficiency by partnering with Industrial Engineering and Operational Excellence teams.
- Eliminate bottlenecks and optimize production flow through data-driven improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, ideally in vehicle, heavy-duty, or capital equipment industries
- Demonstrated success in building production teams, leading maintenance programs, and scaling operations
- Strong track record of cost-reduction and continuous improvement success.
- Expertise in performance metrics and customer-facing manufacturing processes.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems in make-to-order environments.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

The salary range reflected on the job positing is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. While we do not typically hire at the top of the salary range, initial offers are based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience, with opportunities for growth and increases over time.
The hiring range for this position is $188,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year.
