We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join Procore’s Product & Technology Team . Procore software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction, and the Product & Technology team drives our innovative, top-rated global platform. We’re a customer-centric group that includes engineering, product, design, data, security, and business systems.
The Staff Engineer will join Procore’s Platform Services Division and be part of our FedRAMP initiative. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building Procore’s next-generation construction platform services. This is an exciting opportunity to build upon, including for Procore developers, analysts, partners, and customers.
As a Staff Engineer, you'll be a key player in shaping the future of Procore. You’ll collaborate with engineers and product managers to develop and maintain platform services that enable SaaS-based products to operate in a FedRAMP-compliant environment. Your passion for distributed systems and cloud operations will be essential. This position reports to the Director of Platform Services in our Austin, TX office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately. If you're ready for this role, we’re ready for you!
What you’ll do:
- Design and implement network, observability, and secrets platform components for the construction industry, focusing on distributed systems
- Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
- Identify and propose solutions for technical gaps through proofs of concept and experiments
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and IT teams to influence product roadmap and develop innovative solutions
- Stay current with latest trends in network, observability, and secret management technologies
What we’re looking for:
- Experience migrating teams to Istio
- Programming experience with Golang and/or Java
- Experience migrating teams to Vault and OpenTelemetry
- 8+ years building and operating cloud-based, highly available, distributed systems at petabyte scale
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters
- Proficiency with cloud tools such as Istio (Tetrate), Kong, Datadog, HashiCorp Vault
- Experience managing infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, SSM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, PCA)
Additional Information
Base Pay Range: $168,560 - $231,770. Eligible for bonus incentives. Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, education, and location.
