Job Description
Cloud Architects at CapTech are responsible for performing various duties within CapTech’s Systems Integration practice area, typically in the context of technology assessments, strategy formation, or development projects for clients. They often lead a team of developers, collaborate with project managers, analysts, designers, and clients to architect and deliver internal and customer-facing systems for Fortune 500 clients. Our architects possess a broad understanding of many tools, technologies, and products, with some specialization in a few areas, with opportunities to work with the latest technologies and solve complex problems across industries.
Specific Responsibilities for the Cloud Architect Position Include
- Position yourself as a trusted advisor to CapTech clients.
- Oversee and set the technical direction of client projects, collaborating directly with client staff to define and adhere to architectural standards.
- Lead internal teams and act as a Service Offering liaison.
- Design, implement, integrate, and support Cloud solutions.
- Work closely with clients, subject matter experts, and the CapTech team to understand requirements, establish priorities and project scope, and manage expectations and project delivery.
- Define the technical and solution architecture for phased software development.
- Provide hands-on technical direction to other developers, review code, and resolve issues.
- Create documentation that specifies strategy, assessment, or design, delivering value and clarity to stakeholders.
- Articulate architectural differences and integration challenges across platforms, using architectural frameworks as needed.
- Apply organizational procedures to make independent decisions and serve as a credible resource for senior management.
- Collaborate with business development teams during sales efforts to demonstrate CapTech’s technical capabilities and create solutions.
Qualifications
- Ability to think strategically, relating architectural decisions to business needs and client culture.
- Experience with Cloud architecture utilizing Azure.
- Knowledge of Serverless, Containers, PaaS, Storage, and IAM.
- DevOps experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure CLI, and Azure Pipelines for Infrastructure as Code.
- API development skills using Node, Java, or .NET.
- Data engineering experience with Python, Scala, or R for pipelines and ETL.
- Experience with full SDLC using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
- Applied CI/CD experience with Git and TDD practices.
