The architecture group within the Battery Management System (BMS) organization is a critical and collaborative team that bridges across all cross functional teams to understand product needs to translate them into requirements for the BMS domain teams. The engagement spans across short term objectives for upcoming products as well as collaborating with the entire team to establish and pursue the long term BMS roadmap covering hardware, firmware, and algorithms.-Work with cross functional team to establish BMS goals and requirements-Enable successful delivery of BMS systems for new Apple products-Lead the definition of next generation of BMS silicon chipsets-Guide the BMS domain teams in developing efficient and scalable solutions-Engage with multi-disciplinary architects to align on next generation objectives and BMS roadmap-Lead the team to develop an architecture decomposition with justified trade-offs between technology options-Tackle challenging trade-offs and analyze comparative options with quantitative value proposition assessments-This role involves minimal travel. < 5% travel


  • BS degree.
  • Experience in a battery, systems, or related architecture role.


  • 10+ years of relevent industry experience.
  • Proven experience of developing battery management solutions using latest embedded controllers and mixed signal peripherals.
  • Experience with customer interfacing engagement to understand their system, requirements, and problems to define a system level solution.
  • Experience in demonstrating leadership in collaborative environments with multiple internal and external technology partners.
  • Experienced in developing engineering requirement specification for BMS systems and the functional decomposition into BMS HW, FW, SW, IC solutions.
  • Experienced in working with silicon teams to drive BMS hardware requirements/specifications, architecture/feature trade-offs and design compliance.
  • Familiar with battery management algorithms and their interaction with HW, FW, application platform systems, and manufacturing practices.
  • Familiarity with detailed workings of different battery chemistries and their limitations.


At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,000 and $278,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
