Position Overview
The Senior Director of Innovation and AI will be a senior -level leader responsible for spearheading CEI's technology innovation strategy with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence solutions across the entire organization. This role combines enterprise-wide strategic vision with senior implementation capabilities to revolutionize how we deliver care to our participants. Reporting directly to the CIO, this senior leadership position will have line responsibility for the Applications team while driving organization-wide innovation initiatives and serving as a key member of the technology leadership team. The successful candidate will create a scalable set of integrated technology solutions that position CEI for sustainable growth and enhanced service delivery within the PACE model, while establishing our organization as an industry leader in elderly care innovation.

E nterprise Innovation Leadership
The Senior Director of Innovation and AI will develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise innovation roadmap that aligns with CEI's mission and strategic business objectives. This executive will establish and lead a center of competence for innovation that identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging technologies that can transform our service delivery model and operational efficiency. They will collaborate with C-suite and senior leadership team members to create and promote a culture of innovation throughout the organization.
In this capacity, the Senior Director will establish organizational guiding principles for innovation initiatives, ensuring alignment with CEI's strategic objectives and the unique needs of our PACE participants. They will develop appropriate metrics to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of innovation processes, while continuously updating our innovation methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends. The Senior Director will represent CEI at industry conferences and forums, establishing our organization as a thought leader in healthcare innovation.
This role demands an executive who can translate technological capabilities into significant business value and competitive advantage, demonstrating measurable improvements in participant care, cost savings, operational efficiency, and caregiver engagement. Enterprise AI Strategy and Transformation
As CEI's senior AI strategist and ambassador, the Senior Director will architect and execute a comprehensive AI transformation strategy that enhances participant care, improves operational efficiency, and supports our growth objectives. They will identify and prioritize opportunities for implementing AI-driven solutions across our PACE centers, home care services, transportation, and administrative functions, while securing executive sponsorship and resource allocation for key initiatives.
The Senior Director will lead enterprise-wide design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions that address complex challenges in elderly care, ensuring these technologies enhance rather than replace the human touch that defines our approach. They will partner with executive clinical leaders, operations directors, and IT leadership to integrate AI models into our existing systems and workflows, creating seamless experiences for both participants and caregivers.
Key AI initiatives may include predictive analytics for participant health outcomes, intelligent scheduling systems, automated documentation assistants, and natural language processing tools to improve communication with participants. The Senior Director will establish governance frameworks, ethical guidelines, and rigorous testing protocols for AI models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and responsible implementation at scale.

Applications Leadership and Portfolio Management
The Senior Director will have direct line responsibility for CEI's Applications team, overseeing the strategic direction, development roadmap, and talent management for this critical function. They will manage the enterprise applications portfolio, ensuring alignment with our innovation strategy and integration with new AI initiatives while optimizing the balance between innovation and operational stability.
In this capacity, they will establish application prioritization frameworks, manage capital and operational technology budgets, and determine strategic investment allocation across initiatives. The Senior Director will provide senior leadership to the Applications team, mentoring team leaders, developing talent pipelines, and establishing centers of competence for key technologies.
The role includes responsibility for aligning vision and priorities across application de ployment , infrastructure engineering, operations, and enterprise architecture to achieve CEI's long-range business goals. The Senior Director will ensure that our applications strategy supports our PACE model requirements while positioning us for future growth, scalability, and innovation. They will establish vendor management strategies, negotiate enterprise agreements, and build strategic partnerships with technology providers.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred
- 15+ years of technology leadership experience with at least 7-10 years in senior or executive-level positions
- Demonstrated expertise in leading enterprise-wide innovation initiatives and technology transformation projects
- Advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics applications in healthcare settings
- Extensive experience managing application de ployment organizations and complex software implementation programs
- Proven track record of translating technological innovations into measurable business value and competitive advantage
- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare technology systems, preferably in long-term care or senior services environments
- Executive-level experience with change management, organizational development, and technology adoption strategies
