The Role
As a Staff Engineer at Candid Health, you'll be empowered to dive deep into our most complex infrastructure challenges, building the critical systems needed to scale rapidly and meet increasing customer demand. You will have ownership of addressing scalability, performance, reliability, and observability issues, making build vs. buy decisions, and architecting solutions to improve our platform's robustness. Additionally, you'll participate in leadership discussions, influence roadmaps, and advocate for your team’s technical needs. The ideal candidate has experience in scaling startup infrastructure and delivering impactful technical projects that support rapid growth.

- Lead architecture and technical execution, decomposing complex problems into simple, actionable solutions.
- Identify new opportunities for technological innovation that lead to business impact and improved customer outcomes.
- Build and optimize core systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance, especially handling large healthcare data volumes.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in building large-scale, complex software systems.
- Expertise in systems design, scaling, distributed systems, observability, and database management, especially PostgreSQL.
- Proven success in driving technical projects that achieve significant business outcomes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity and deliver results.
- Experience with technologies like GCP, BigQuery, Python, Terraform is a plus but not required.

Pay Transparency
The estimated annual salary range is $209,000 to $283,000 USD, with potential additional compensation through equity and benefits. Salary is based on skills, experience, and market factors.
