Role Location and Schedule

This role is located in our Irvine, CA. office and has a schedule of 4 days on-site and 1 day work from home.

Role Description

Matterport is seeking a Manager of Software Development to support the demand for Matterport’s revolutionary platform. Our all-in-one 3D data platform enables anyone to turn a space into an accurate and immersive digital twin which can be used to design, build, operate, promote, and understand any space. As the Manager, Software Development, you will join our Platform team as manager. You’ll be responsible for managing a team that crafts and scales services which connect the Matterport Platform with Matterport’s internal systems.

The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives on new challenges, possesses a strong platform development background, and has a drive to invent with others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects with other teams.
  • Work closely with product, design teams, and business stakeholders to execute product innovations.
  • Build scalable products.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture focusing on learning, best practices, and efficiency.
  • Enable teams to succeed by removing obstacles and developing strategic relationships.
  • Set team goals regarding project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency.
  • Stay current on market trends and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in coding and technical tasks as needed.
  • Organize and define requirements with Product.
  • Manage SDLC processes.
  • Hire, coach, and develop your team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years leading multiple software engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
  • 8+ years developing cloud platforms in languages such as Kotlin, Java, Go, or Python.
  • Experience with Linux, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Git, and non-relational data stores like FoundationDB.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • React.js experience.
  • Full-stack development experience.
