Be a part of the business transformation re-imagining the way PG&E works. We are building a team to lead PG&E’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program (Propel) focused on streamlining and standardizing our business processes in work and asset management, supply chain, finance, and IT. We are re-implementing our SAP ECC system and migrating our entire SAP solution to SAP S/4HANA.

Position Summary

The SAP Solution Architect, Chief will manage the technical design of the SAP system, including dependencies and integration with PG&E’s broader application ecosystem and external systems. The goal is to deliver cost-effective solutions while maximizing service delivery and coworker satisfaction. This role is at a Director level and reserved for highly skilled technical leaders with deep domain experience in strategic areas.

Work Arrangement

This position is hybrid, working from your home office and the Oakland General Office (OGO) 3 days a week, or as business needs require.

Compensation

PG&E provides a salary range based on the locality of the job, estimated to be between $163,000 and $277,000 in the Bay Area. Actual salary will depend on skills, experience, education, and other factors.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Establish and manage S/4 technical architecture, including review processes and metrics for quality.
  2. Lead S/4 Hana solution architecture, technology selection, and develop guiding principles.
  3. Design S/4Hana technical architecture.
  4. Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines for SAP systems, including data solutions, integration, and D&A.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders on application architecture strategy and technology roadmap for SAP systems.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends and recommend enhancements.
  7. Evaluate, select, and implement SAP and non-SAP applications in collaboration with vendors.
  8. Develop integration strategies and oversee middleware implementation, including tools like MuleSoft.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 12 years in IT
  • 10 years of solution architecture and project implementation experience
  • 8+ years designing and managing SAP business solutions, especially SAP S/4 HANA

Desired

  • Expertise in ABAP, ABAP on HANA, SAP BTP, SAP HANA, OData, SAP Gateway
  • Knowledge of SAP Modules FI, CO, MM, HR, EAM
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
