Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Join a biotechnology research organization at the cutting edge of ML and Biology. We’re working with a mission-driven research organization dedicated to unlocking the secrets of biology to accelerate breakthroughs in life sciences. We are seeking an exceptional Machine Learning Scientist to help build the next generation of foundation models using large-scale genomic and multi-omic datasets .

What You’ll Do:

• Design, train, and evaluate large-scale machine learning models (e.g., transformers, diffusion models, VAEs) tailored to genomic and biological data.
• Develop self-supervised learning methods to extract meaningful representations from high-dimensional and heterogeneous omics data.
• Collaborate with biologists, bioinformaticians, and software engineers to translate research into impactful applications in gene discovery, drug development, and synthetic biology.
• Contribute to model interpretability and ensure models are robust, scalable, and biologically grounded.
• Publish your work and present findings at internal reviews, external conferences, and in peer-reviewed journals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience building and scaling deep learning models—especially foundation models or large-scale representation learning.
• Familiarity with genomics, transcriptomics, or related high-throughput biological data is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
