Funded by Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, Snowflake, and Databricks, Tecton has a fast-growing, distributed team with offices in San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle. Our team has extensive experience building and operating critical machine learning systems at Uber, Google, Meta, Airbnb, Lyft, and Twitter.

The Realtime Data team develops high-performance online infrastructure powering AI inference at 100K+ QPS with millisecond latency, used in mission-critical enterprise applications. This position is open to candidates near our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and communicate an 18-month technical vision to align the team and guide development efforts.
  2. Architect and implement solutions to scale our serving platform for millions of requests per second with low latency and high availability.
  3. Enhance Tecton’s query execution engine to support complex, multi-stage queries with user-defined DAGs.
  4. Build integrated observability solutions providing logs, metrics, and traces for operational excellence.
  5. Deploy our infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms, ensuring security and data residency compliance.
  6. Prioritize tasks with a focus on performance-critical areas.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed or highly concurrent systems.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience, with strong infrastructure development skills.
  • Experience with Database Query Engines.
  • Experience with AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with low-latency storage solutions like DynamoDB, Redis, or BigTable.
  • Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or object storage like S3.

The estimated US base salary range for this position is $216,000 - $258,000 annually for employees based in California & New York. We offer competitive equity and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, holidays, sick leave, and other leave options. Compensation depends on location, experience, skills, and role scope.

Tecton is a remote-friendly company with a hybrid policy for employees in SF, NY, and Seattle. We value in-person collaboration and expect SF & NY employees to work in-office at least two days per week, and Seattle employees at least two days per month.
